Why: Batman, IMAX. The movie is written and directed by Christopher Nolan, who did Memento and The Prestige.
Transiberian
Why: Good cast, suspenseful story.
For Skip, also opening this weekend is 'Mama Mia'.
Also worth mentioning, the Robocop series may be getting a new sequel. It is going to be directed by Darren Aronofsky, the guy who did Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and The Fountain. Aronofsky is currently putting finishing touches on a movie called 'The Wrestler' starring Mickey Rourke as a ex-pro wrestler with a heart problem who is lured back into the ring for one more fight against his greatest foe.
